"I have been a Manchester United fan since I was 9 or 10 years old. It was sometime during the 1981-82 season when I randomly picked United as my team from the 1979 Topps set that I was always sifting through. There must have been an aura about the name that captivated me because only with time did I learn about the history and greatness of the club.

"Bryan Robson was my boyhood hero and he still remains my all-time favourite. Mark Hughes next became my favourite once Robbo left, then David Beckham, and now... Darren Fletcher!

"In the late 1980s my whole family moved to Houston, Texas, where I still live to this day. As difficult it is to travel to England to watch United, I have been there a few times, including a couple months in 2001 when I went to live in Manchester. In Chorlton to be precise, where I would walk to Old Trafford for matches or spend hours every day in the central library researching the club's past through microfilms. Those were the days...

"Over the years I have collected over 150 United books, hundreds of magazines, and thousands of trade cards. I finally sat down to fulfill my lifelong dream and write Newton Heath's story in 2007. 'The Story of the Green & Gold' book came out in 2010. Since then, I just cannot seem able to stop writing about United.
